When entering the civil cemetery of Tienen at the Aarschotsesteenweg one walks immediately upon the honorary park of the heroes of World War I.

The 37 casualties in this honorary park, among them three known to God only, all have the traditional Belgian tombstone.

The maintenance of those graves could be better, but that is a shortcoming in lots of Belgian towns and villages. Probably a matter of pennies, or rather choices, for what they want to spend them on.
